Venture Bros Questions

Okay, I know this isn't a discussion board - and we're not talking about Lost or Battlestar - which are the soup de jour of geek/nerd/obsessive fandom speculation.

But I've got some nagging thoughts and theories of the storyline of my favorite show.

That show? The Venture Bros. - of course.

Topics:
1) Why does the Monarch HATE Dr. Venture?
2) Yes, we know Hank and Dean are clones. But clones of who?
3) Dermont's paternity test results
4) Will Dean ever kiss Triana?

1) Why does Monarch HATE Venture?

My thoughts are -
a) What's the name of the show? The Venture BROTHERS... hmmmm...?

b) In Dr. Queym, Medicine Woman,
Queym is at least Rusty's a half sister. Same
hair color. And lets not dismiss the creepiness-fail
for Rusty that his first kiss is with his (unknown)
half-sister. And then your swinging dad falling on you
at a key party messing up that icky kiss. That's a
whole pile of fail right there. Like, totally.

Also - Showing that Jonas Venture is a swinger opens up ALL KINDS of questions -
maybe Murray Povich could be showing up in Season 4?

c) And that all plays into my thought that the Monarch
is another 'venture brother.'

No - they've made it clear that they DO NOT want
Monarch arching Venture... why is not clear at all.

Now that might be just that they were grooming Venture
to arch his own brother by the second episode -- and
Killinger almost had him. And I'm not saying it won't happen
by the end of the season.

And Dr. Girlfriend was under orders
to get him to stop
arching Venture (a pre-condition of their marriage)
and also a condition of them being accepted as a duo
in the Guild. This has been mentioned twice already.

Question - why? Is it just that they see him as a foil
to his brother, or is there new shiznit that we're not
yet privy too? This could also be another puzzle piece
into my theory. And who ever said Dr. J Venture Sr. is
dead? Have you seen a corpse? I think I'm going to
need a corpse on this one...

Let's remember Monarch's origin is that his parents died in a plane crash in New Jersey, which he survived and lived with the monarch butterflies. His parents were never been shown. Is it possible RUSTY was involved? Perhaps he saw a threat to his boy adventuring and somehow caused that plane crash?

Hey, it might be as simple as Rusty mocked the Monarch's poetry in their college creative writing class?

...and BTW, Phantom Limb is still out there, with out a
limb I suppose. There is going to HAVE to be some kind
of return and arch to the story on that at some
point... I mean, what if Limb turns back to GOOD and
super science -- and the Monarch arches HIM? That
could be a fantastic season cliff hanger -- with
multiple threads still open.

I mean, what if Limb came in and "rescued" White and
Quizboy and also got Doc back on their feet? That'd be
something unexpected.

off subject) I guess we didn't get the name of the lad catching
Col. Gentleman's affection. On second view - it's not
clear. It could be David Bowie in mod outfit.
That would be pretty damn funny
-- as to why he's the head of the Guild of CI?
"oh you pretty things..."

Or was that one young Mr. Limb?
He's wearing British Mod Suit -- and
Mr. Limb is British... so, what was that again?

2) Hank and Dean are clones, yes. But of whom?

First, address the timeline to establish the age
of Hank and Dean -- how long is the gestation of the
cloned children? It must be about a month?
Which is about how long Rusty was parting between seasons 1 -

Second. How many times have they died? What 14 times?
They're on their 15th now? So they think they're 16 -
but are actually 19... according to their ID's.

There's also a note of how long it's been since Doc
last had sex in the episode. 19 years... days, minutes etc.

Which is probably accurate to guess their real age
plus or minus 9 months.

For a long time it seemed obvious that the clones were of Rusty and Brock...
but there were holes in that theory.
"Really Hank, it's like you're channeling dead crazy people-
I never see you read..."

And "It's like it's in my DNA." are hints it's not Brock.

Then in Quizboy's flashback we see Myra was being carted away BEFORE Brock met the Doc,
kind of suggests that her story of birthing the children could hold some water. However, it doesn't seem like that's the case.

Now what if Myra is involved, but the clones are of Rusty and Myra - and she freaked out, because the clone was Hank -- and that's because she was originally a HE (hey, there's a lot of gender issues going on in that OSI!)

My thoughts are that the kids are clones of Jonas Venture and a male Myra. And they didn't quite come out the way Rusty had hoped... another in a series of failures.

3) Dermont's paternity test results

Back to the Rusty Day Camp Episode,

Dermott's Dad -- the kid who befriends Hank, gets
beaten by Dean, and is hated by Brock.

It seems painfully obvious they want us to think this
Dermott kid to be Brock's son. Doc saying "Wait till
you have a kid of your own" is, I hope, a red herring.

The only thing is the mother, who was hidden in
station wagon shadow. The show has SPECTACULAR
continuity, and attention to detail is rewarded.
So what if the silhouetted mother was... could it be
Leslie Cohen~!?

Nope - ((please read this email in 21's voice))

Okay, hang on.

Dermont is 21's kid.

There are references back to second season:
"He cured my herpies! Dude, talk to him, he can
probably help you 'with your problem.'"

And there was a reference to 21's 'problem' again this
season...

What's 21's problem?
He probably scored with some chick - and told her his
name was Brock Samson to do it...
That'd be a pretty big problem, no?

Of course the kid was told that he's Brock's son --
but he's very much like 21. Kind of fat - really into
Kung Fu, the way that 21 is into, well, nerdy stuff.
And BAD at it to boot!

Notice also it was 24 who tackled Dermont on the Venture property? I did. Meanwhile, 21 was 'killing' Hank.

And, it's the Venture Bros. so this has been set up
for a LONG time.

"Who are you anyway?"
"I'm Hank's friend"
"No way I believe that"
"Would you believe I'm Brock's long lost son?"
"I doubt I would have caught you so easily"
"I couldn't run because I've got a lighter shoved up my ass"
"Ok, now I believe you're Hank's friend"

4) Will Dean ever kiss Triana?

I think Dean has a better chance to become a supervillian -- and it's because of Triana.
